Ogopa Deejays is an African Entertainment outfit, run by young Africans whose ambition is the burning desire to make a difference in a society with limited resources and touch the lives of the youth through music and entertainment.

In East Africa, Ogopa Deejays is a celebrated production power house that is associated with the changing faces of urban music in the region and the influence it now has on the youth today.

Originally set up in the late nineties as a music production house, Ogopa had a vision to capture the immense youthful talent, nature and create African Stars and showcase these stars to the world through quality productions that could compete with the best.

Over the years Ogopa has recorded and produced artistes that have made a big impression in Africa and beyond. Some of these artistes include, The late E-Sir, Amani, The Longombas and Nameless (Kenya); Chameleon, Peter Miles, Bebe Cool, (Uganda); AY (Tanzania), just to mention a few.

Under the brand name Ogopa Deejays, the production house has now grown to become a one stop entertainment shop housing a music production unit (Ogopa Studio), video production unit (Ogopa Video), a talent development and management unit (club Ogopa) and a radio and television commercial unit (the creative HOUSE).

And to be able to capture the youthful spirit and influences of the continent, Ogopa has also been operating in Southern Africa-specifically in Namibia-as Ogopabutterfly Entertainment.

Ogopabutterfly Entertainment is the home of the multi talented star act and duo Gal Level and the inspirational Kalaharians.

Name and Character

Ogopa is a Swahili word that means fear. In this context it refers to the perpetual human fear of the unknown and has always been synonymous with the different artistes that have been recorded and produced at the production house.

Each artiste is nurtured differently and the end result is always unsettling. The Deejays added to the name is a reminder of the background and part development of the founding team.

Due to the evolving nature of the music industry today, the Ogopa brand has remained relevant by being Courageous, Conspicuous and most importantly Consistent.

And in line with the brand character, Ogopa has developed and produced products over the years that are characteristically "young" and full of energy targeting the youth.

Ogopa Studios

Ogopa Studios have been responsible for identifying and producing some of the most gifted talent in East Africa. To date the studio has recorded, produced and released 8 award winning albums. Technically the studio has the capacity to record both play back music and live music depending on the direction and request of client.

Using high end plug ins, out board Gear and Pre amps the sound quality produced can compete favorable anywhere in the world. Other services include, mixing, mastering, re production of previously recorded works and voice over recordings for presentations.

Ogopa Video

The Ogopa video unit has developed a reputation for producing high quality original award winning local and intercontinental music videos. The unit has the capacity to produce short documentaries, TV series and Television Commercials.

Club Ogopa

Club Ogopa is a fun club that also doubles up as the events and Talent Management wing of the production house. Events executed include album launches, concerts and on ground activations. The artistes managed by the club include Amani, Jaguar, Colonel Moustapha and Avril just to mention a few.

The Creative House

Mainly the driving sub unit that executes creative Radio and Television Commercials and has executed commercials for various multinational companies in East and Southern Africa. A detailed presentation is available on request.
